Gwencalon Beagles
Gwencalon Beagles
Gwencalon Kennels is dedicated to breeding the very best Beagles. We’re passionate about this feisty, good-natured breed, and are committed to bringing out the best in it. Our goal is to provide you and your family with the best puppy possible!
Our breeding careers began in 2002 with our foundation bitch, Tawney. An American-Canadian Champion, Tawney was bred by long-time Alberta breeder Jane Lloyd of Terwillegar Beagles. Tawney is currently an American-Canadian champion, and to date has had three litters.
Since Tawney, we have bred several litters and have shown our Beagles in Arizona, California, Oregon, Virginia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. All our dogs are home-raised and each is a Canadian champion; some also have their American championship. We’re proud that in our relatively short history, we’ve had the opportunity to participate in the U.S. Beagle Nationals three times. We’ve also recently expanded our Kennel with the acquisition of two Harriers, and look forward to breeding this Beagle-cousin.
Gwencalon is committed to giving each puppy the best possible start in life. When our puppies reach the appropriate age, they visit a veterinarian where they are de-wormed, implanted with a microchip, have their dewclaws removed, and receive (at a minimum) their first set of shots. Each is then registered with the Canadian Kennel Club. When you take your Gwencalon puppy home, you’ll also receive an informational binder including pictures of the sire and the dam, an immunization record and a puppy menu.
Gwencalon Kennels is located on 40 acres of Alberta prairie, just southeast of Sherwood Park, AB. We welcome visitors!
